Too much stirring will muddy the paints so just a few simple swirls will do. In the attached picture i used a fairly tight swirl but a much looser swirl will also give a good effect.

Using the wooden skewer slightly run it through your paints to create a lovely marbled effect. The first coat is applied quite thinly with brush strokes in every direction.
After the black paint dries put swirls of gray and green paint on a plate. Create the look of marble at a fraction of the cost with a faux finishing technique. Apply the second coat of chalk paint again relatively thinly.
